Bellevue- August 2018

Bellevue is a charming place to be in the summer. From street fairs to viewing Lego architecture; it has plenty to do throughout. Here are some upcoming events going on around the city this month.

Lego Americana Roadshow– This free display at the Bellevue Collection features the most incredible Lego buildings you could even imagine. This display is up from August 4th to the 19th, and is totally free! Marvel at the crazy architectural feats made entirely of plastic bricks by Lego’s master builders. It is quite the sight to see, you will be blown away by what these people can do with these simple toys.

shutterstock_778661710.jpgFood Truck Rock and Roll Show August 10th– Featured at Ashwood Park, this event has 8 local food trucks stationed at the park, plus a Journey tribute cover band. Get your food, picnic on the lawn, and jam out with neighbors! Vegetarian and Vegan options are included in the lineup, alongside the classic hearty grub you would likely imagine to come from a food truck. The event runs from 4-8 pm so there is plenty of time all afternoon to stop in and get some good food!

Washington State Fair August 31st- September 23rd- The annual Puyallup Fair, is plenty of fun for all! You can easily spend an entire day here with friends or family. See exhibits, attend concerts, watch a rodeo, play games, go on rides, and so much more. The fair has been running for many years and has plenty of rich history behind it! Help celebrate our state and have some fun by attending the fair.

Live at Lunch- The Virginia Mason Medical Center is putting on live music every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from noon to 1:30 pm at various open spaces and plazas through downtown Bellevue. This is a very fun experience with an array of performers and don’t miss the “Rockaraoke” competition in which you compete and perform with a live band! Prizes are provided by Lunchbox Laboratory. A prior sign up is mandatory for this competition, but feel free to enjoy the tunes at  your pleasure.

Outdoor Movies at Bellevue Park- These movies in the park are located at the Downtown Bellevue Park and are completely free! Each week, a different non-profit organization is featured which the audience is given the opportunity to donate to. With this, there is entertainment prior to the movie, popcorn, and fun to be had while relaxing and enjoying a movie on the big screen. This is a lovely gathering put on by the community for pure enjoyment of members of the community. Movies start at dusk (approximately 9 pm) and run every Tuesday night until August 28th.


Bellevue Farmer’s Market- Stationed in the parking lot of the First  Presbyterian Church, right off of Bellevue Way, is this phenomenal market . It follows a season from May to October, every Thursday, 3-7 pm rain or shine. This is an outstanding local market that features amazing wood fired pizza, crepes, cheese, bread, flowers, honey, and plenty of more fresh selections that will not disappoint.

There is a lot going on around the city through August, and it is a great time for everyone to get involved. Aside from these events, there is always a beach to relax at, or shops to stop into.
